It’s been a month. Yes, a month, since I got back from my latest trip around the lovely land of Italy. My best friend, Angela, and I left to explore the most beautiful country in the world on Sept. 19, and returned 10 days later with a sense of exhaustion and wanderlust that you can only experience when you travel. We booked our plane tickets back in March, and our Airbnbs only a few weeks before departing. After coming to the realization that our semester abroad in Florence was nearly three years ago, a trip back was long overdue. But, yeah. It’s been a month, and a sweet month of soaking in home — both on the East Coast, and the one that we visited on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.Read More
The New York City video has been quite the experience for me. After editing and diving into Premiere for months, I scrapped everything I had for a concept that I'm way more passionate about, in its entirety.
The reality of our existence is that we're always rushing. To the subway, to the top of another skyscraper, to whatever's next. It's no wonder we're feeling lost and confused about everything. So, with this video I wanted to recreate that concept, and explore the possibility of living life slow versus the fast pace we're constantly running at. I wanted to capture the stress and sleepless nights and create another option.
This is New York City — a place that's always existing with an immense energy, and never slowing down. But maybe it could.
Love always, Marisa
It only took four days in Portland for me to completely fall in love with the West Coast. The evergreens, the teal water, and the coffee shops. The mountains, artsy people, and every bit of passion in between. I could easily see why people choose to spend their entire lives in Oregon, or even just a few hours south in California. Life is seemingly so much less stressful than it is here on the East Coast, and it's all about creating something beautiful for yourself, rather than just chasing after the next thing.
Making this video was an experience in itself, and I'm so excited to continue capturing my travels as they come. I'll be back to the Pacific Northwest so soon. I can just feel it! But for now, I'm just getting glimpses of these trips for you — and me and my wanderlust, too.
